A total of 113 Guinean citizens returned to their country from Morocco on Sunday, April 26, 2026, as part of a repatriation operation organized with the support of Conakry, according to reports from Guinean media.
The operation was conducted under the coordination of Guinean authorities, with the assistance of the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The returnees, mostly irregular migrants, arrived at Conakry International Airport aboard a special flight.
This repatriation is part of ongoing efforts to manage irregular migration between West Africa and North Africa. Many Guineans attempt to reach Europe via Morocco but often face difficulties, leading to voluntary or assisted returns.
Local authorities in Guinea have not yet released detailed information about the conditions of the returnees or any specific reintegration plans. However, similar operations in the past have included support for vocational training and economic reintegration.
