A wild boar caused a stir after wandering into a shopping mall in Berlin, Germany, on Friday, March 13, 2026. The animal entered the Alexa shopping center in the city's Mitte district, making its way into a home decor store.
Police and a veterinarian were called to the scene. Officers secured the area with riot shields to contain the animal and protect the public, while the vet used a tranquilizer dart to sedate the boar.
The operation successfully subdued the animal without injury. It was then safely removed from the mall by authorities. Incursions by wild boars into urban areas are not uncommon in Berlin, where the animals have adapted to city life.
