Tyler Tardi has been named the new skip for the Saskatchewan curling team, joining Colton Flasch, Dan Marsh, and Kevin Marsh following Mike McEwen's departure after three seasons in Saskatchewan.

McEwen announced on March 12, 2026, that "the team has chosen a different path without me next season" and declared himself a free agent for the coming season. The announcement came less than 72 hours after McEwen revealed he would be stepping away from the team that curled out of the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon.

The 27-year-old Tardi from Richmond, B.C., brings impressive credentials to his new role, including Olympic gold as an alternate with Team Brad Jacobs at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina. He also captured bronze at the 2025 World Men's Curling Championship and gold at the 2025 Pan Continental Curling Championships with Team Jacobs.

The newly formed rink will feature Dan Marsh at lead, Kevin Marsh at second, Flasch at third and Tardi calling the shots as skip. McEwen's former team claimed silver in the 2024 Brier in Regina, losing to Brad Gushue in the finals, and finished third at the 2025 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials before missing the playoffs at the 2026 Brier in St. John's.

With Flasch providing veteran experience at third and the Marsh brothers continuing their long-standing partnership, the newly assembled rink gives Saskatchewan curling fans another intriguing team to watch as preparations begin for the 2026-27 season.
