The Philippine government announced that a second contingent of Filipino nationals evacuated from Middle East conflict zones will touch down in Manila on Sunday, March 15, as regional tensions continue to escalate across several countries in the region.

Presidential Communications Office Acting Secretary Dave Gomez confirmed the arrival during a press briefing on Saturday, stating that the repatriated workers will be transported aboard a Philippine Airlines aircraft. The evacuation represents the government's ongoing commitment to safeguarding overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) caught in volatile situations abroad.

This latest repatriation follows an earlier batch of evacuees who were successfully brought home as part of the government's emergency response protocol. Officials have not disclosed the exact number of returnees or their specific countries of origin, citing security considerations and the fluid nature of the regional situation.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has been coordinating closely with Philippine embassies and consulates across the Middle East to monitor the safety of approximately 1.77 million Filipino workers in the region. Authorities continue to assess the need for additional evacuation flights as the security situation remains unpredictable in several Gulf states and neighboring countries.
