Ontario Solicitor General Michael Kerzner has publicly addressed the recent arrests of seven serving Toronto Police Service officers, following a major, long-running anti-corruption investigation. The investigation, led by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), resulted in charges including breach of trust, obstruction of justice, and conspiracy.

The officers were arrested in late February 2026. The OPP stated the investigation, named "Project Pharaoh," began in 2023 and focused on allegations of corruption and misconduct within a specific unit of the Toronto police force. Details of the alleged activities have not been fully disclosed in court.

In his statement, Solicitor General Kerzner emphasized that the charges are serious and that the government has confidence in the independent judicial process. He stated that the allegations, if proven, do not reflect the integrity of the vast majority of police officers in Ontario. The Toronto Police Service has placed the accused officers on paid administrative leave, pending the outcome of the court proceedings.

The case has been adjourned to a future date, and none of the allegations have been proven in court. The OPP investigation is described as ongoing.
