Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed the assailant was a court employee who used a pump-action rifle. He stated the attacker killed the district governor's deputy and a second civil servant. Several other people were injured in the shooting.

Security forces, including police special operations units, swiftly surrounded the building. After a tense standoff, the attacker was detained by police. Authorities have launched an investigation into the motive behind the attack.
