French national champion Dorian Godon (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale) won the seventh stage of the 2026 Paris-Nice cycling race on Saturday, March 14. The stage was dramatically shortened to just 47 kilometers due to dangerous weather conditions in the Alps.

The original 142.9km route from Nice to the Col de la Couillole was abandoned. Organizers instead created a new 47km circuit starting and finishing in Isola 2000, featuring two ascents of the Col de la Couillole. The decision was made for rider safety amid forecasts of extreme cold, high winds, and snow at altitude.

Godon attacked from a reduced group on the final climb and held off a chasing pack to claim the stage victory. The win marked a significant result for the 29-year-old in the prestigious "Race to the Sun." The overall race lead remained with Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step), who finished safely in the main group.

The 2026 Paris-Nice is scheduled to conclude on Sunday, March 15, with a traditional stage finishing on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice.
