Thailand's Meteorological Department has issued an urgent weather warning for the next 24 hours, forecasting severe summer storms across 46 provinces including the northern, central, and eastern regions, as well as Bangkok and surrounding metropolitan areas.

The weather advisory, released on March 13, 2016, warns residents to expect dangerous conditions including thunderstorms, powerful wind gusts, hailstorms, and potential lightning strikes. These summer storms are characterized by their sudden intensity and ability to cause significant damage to property and pose risks to human safety.

Meteorologists are particularly concerned about the widespread nature of this weather system, which spans nearly three-quarters of Thailand's provinces. The department emphasized that these storms can develop rapidly with little warning, making outdoor activities especially hazardous during the forecast period.

Authorities strongly advise citizens to avoid open areas, seek shelter in sturdy buildings, and postpone non-essential outdoor activities until the weather system passes. The warning comes as Thailand enters its traditional hot season, when atmospheric conditions frequently create these violent but short-lived storm systems.
