The field for the 2026 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament is set to be revealed on Sunday, March 16, during the annual Selection Show. The event, known as Selection Sunday, will announce the 68 teams competing for the national championship and the complete tournament bracket.
The tournament, one of the most popular sporting events in the United States, begins this week with the First Four games in Dayton, Ohio, on March 18-19. The first round of the main tournament starts on March 20.
Selection Sunday marks the culmination of the college basketball regular season and conference tournaments, where automatic bids are secured and the final at-large teams are chosen by the NCAA selection committee. The 2026 tournament will conclude with the Final Four and national championship game at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on April 4 and 6, respectively.
